OVERVIEW

Henry has very wide experiences in private businesses, Non –governmental institutions and policy development at National and regional level. He has worked in all countries of East and Southern Africa for the last 19years.  

He holds B.A. (Hons) degree in Economics and MA( Agricultural Marketing)

Successfully supported a team of 5 economic development advisors (Outreach 30 districts, sectors: apiculture, tourism and coffee value chains) as economic development team lead for SNV Rwanda’s South Portfolio; responsibilities included support to economic development and country programme strategy development and budgeting, client portfolio management, implementation and facilitation (Multi-Stakeholder Processes, Effective Public Policy Management, Group Strengthening, Value Chain Financing, Strengthening Service Provision, Market Intelligence), service provider contracting, monitoring & evaluation, staff coaching, knowledge development, brokering and networking (KDBN)

Through national level multi stakeholder processes, successfully facilitated the development of a national apiculture strategy (2007-2012) for the Ministry of Agriculture and Animal Resources(Government of Rwanda) and subsequent development of the apiculture sector policy (Visit amis.minagri.gov.rw/.../national-beekeepingstrategic- plan-document-2007-2012-minagrirarda); responsibilities included mobilization of sector stakeholders, coordinating dialogue meetings, facilitating task force activities, facilitating validation process, liaison contact with Ministry of Agriculture(Rwanda Animal Research and development agency)

  • Managed the company very well as a going concern with a staff of 15 persons.
  • Established distribution network for medical consumables in the whole of Great Lakes region (Rwanda, Burundi and DR Congo).
  • Drew several winning national and International tender Proposals in the region for medical supplies.
