Food & Beverage

The food and beverage industry is a complex, global collective of diverse businesses that together supply much of the food energy consumed by the world population. In the U.S., consumers spend approximately US$1 trillion annually on food or nearly 10 per cent of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP). The 2013 total of merger and acquisition activity in the food & beverage industry included 263 deals and is the second annual decline.

Changing consumer preferences are influencing a massive repositioning within the global F&B industry. Convenience is an increasingly important factor driving F&B market growth. In addition, increased focus on health & wellness moves consumers away from products that are high in sugar and/or fat towards healthier alternatives. These trends highlight the opportunity to market higher quality food & beverage products.Â
